Hyper-V R2 will have a feature that enables live migrations between Hyper-V hosts having a different processor! A virtual machine can be live migrated from a host running an Intel Core i7 to a host running an Intel Pentium 4! That is good news!
Mind migrations between host running an Intel CPU to a host running an AMD CPU or vice versa are not possible,

I am a technical consultant with a strong focus on server virtualization, desktop virtualization, cloud computing and business continuity/disaster recovery.
This site will focus primarily on VMware vSphere and Hyper-V solutions.
The main reason I started this blogsite beginning of 2009 is to share my experiences and knowledge. I strongly believe in sharing knowledge. Also I like to write articles. A third reason is for personal usage: information is used by myself when I forgot something ;-)
