Google to build a new datacenter in the Netherlands.

Update: June 14. An earlier report on this site stating that AWS bought this land is not correct.

According Dutch media a large  worldwide operating American  software company  will build a large datacenter in the Netherlands. While the name of the company is still a secret, strong rumours say it will be Amazon Web Services (AWS).

However, at Thursday June 14, Bloomberg reported Google purchased land to build datacenter on.

Google purchased seventy hectares of land in an area where also Microsoft has a large datacenter facility. Other sources mention 24 hectares was purchased. The two Middenmeer datacenters of Microsoft are build on an area of forty hectares of land.  Middenmeer is located 60km north of Amsterdam.
